This old Truck has been sitting in this spot at Mosheim, Texas for at least 25 years and apparently is sentimental to it’s owners or it would have sold a long time ago. The Tree in the bed is the second one to grow there as the first one was cut down and was much larger. I’ve wanted to do a Painting of it for a long time and finally “got er done”!
Available for purchase:
Live Oak Trees are in my opinion one of god's greatest creations! No two are the same but it is obvious that they are all Live Oaks1
Available for purchase:
Trees are some of the most amazing things on earth. No two are alike yet each species is easily recognized. As in all facets of nature a tree is useful from the day it sprouts from a seed until it rots and falls providing nourishment to various creatures and enrichment to the soil.

There is nothing more inspiring than a clear Texas night sky with a Full Moon and I feel privileged to live out in the country where you can see the Stars without all the competing lights of civilization. Notice anything on the Moon that's unusual? (OK, you can't see the details online so I'll tell you, "I put the shape of the State of Texas on the Moon!")
Available for purchase:
In March 1836, Mexican General Urrea set up headquarters at these Live Oak Trees which are now in the median of US Highway 77 just south of Refugio. Urrea's Army captured the Mission at Refugio and executed 30 Texans that were under the command of Captain Amon B. King. A week later, Lieutenant-Colonel William Ward and his Georgia Battalion of 100 men surrendered to Urrea and were sent to Goliad and, along with the captured James W. Fannin and his men, all were massacred on Palm Sunday, March 27, 1836

This is a flashback to my teenage years when I spent a lot of time hanging out on Used Car Lots. This accumulation of memories portrays several of the cars Martha and I drove; our first date was in a 1950 Chevrolet, we had a 1950 Studebaker when we married and drove a 1957 Pontiac when our children were babies. I dedicate this painting to the late Jack Mason of Austin who sold me numerous Used Cars on credit with only my promise to pay and always took them back in trade when they couldn't be repaired.
Available for purchase:
The Valley Spring Church of Christ was built in 1904 and enlarged in the 1930’s, which is the era I’ve depicted in this Painting. Valley Spring is located northwest of Llano on Texas Highway 71.
Available for purchase:
There is a small tree lined ravine that is about 100 yards from the road that I feed my Cattle on and most mornings the Deer are watching from the edge of the woods. When I drive away after feeding my Cattle the deer come up and feed with the Cattle. I named it Velvet Morning because the Buck's Antlers are in the Velvet Stage and the fog is soft as Velvet.

This is one of those Ideas that almost got away!
I photographed these horses at a Ranch in the early 1980's and intended to do a painting of them but got distracted and forgot. I recently was reorganizing my reference files and stumbled on to my photos and this is this result!
Available for purchase:

Opened in 1949 and was later moved (Building and all) to it's present location at 2010 Scurry in Big Spring, Texas. Owner Susie Roach went to work there as a Carhop at age 13 and now she owns the place!

A dog seems to have an internal clock to tell him important things, like when to wait for the school bus and greet the children. This road is in the Texas Panhandle near Pampa and the dog lives in Austin and knows just when to wait for my wife and I to pet him as we take our daily walk!
Available for purchase:
This is Clyde, our Golden Retriever who stops and waits for us to catch up when we go on our morning walk. This scene is from the north side of our ranch looking toward our house. This is my second painting to feature a Golden Retriever, the first one was Waiting for the Bus that I painted in 1982!
Available for purchase:
I painted this in public at the Round Top Fair. I painted everything from memory except the two cowboys that I photographed several years ago! Recon they will make it home with dry britches?
Available for purchase:
Actually it's hard to get the Blues when you are looking at the Texas Hill Country in full bloom. If you get the Blues in April, I prescribe a large dose of Texas Bluebonnets and you will find the cure!

This classic Gas Station is on Washington Street in Waco, Texas just a few blocks from downtown. It will be featured in my 2021 Texas Meridian Highway Calendar. I had been restored to look like you could drive in and Gas up!

This was inspired at Inks Lake State Park where the Deer will come right up to your car looking for a handout and they don't even offer to "work for food" This Buck looks like he may be watching out for any rivals that may want to lure his Ladies away!

I never tire of watching a great sunset and Texas seems to consistently have some of the better ones.
