There is nothing more inspiring than a clear Texas night sky with a Full Moon and I feel privileged to live out in the country where you can see the Stars without all the competing lights of civilization. Notice anything on the Moon that's unusual? (OK, you can't see the details online so I'll tell you, "I put the shape of the State of Texas on the Moon!")

In March 1836, Mexican General Urrea set up headquarters at these Live Oak Trees which are now in the median of US Highway 77 just south of Refugio. Urrea's Army captured the Mission at Refugio and executed 30 Texans that were under the command of Captain Amon B. King. A week later, Lieutenant-Colonel William Ward and his Georgia Battalion of 100 men surrendered to Urrea and were sent to Goliad and, along with the captured James W. Fannin and his men, all were massacred on Palm Sunday, March 27, 1836

This is a flashback to my teenage years when I spent a lot of time hanging out on Used Car Lots. This accumulation of memories portrays several of the cars Martha and I drove; our first date was in a 1950 Chevrolet, we had a 1950 Studebaker when we married and drove a 1957 Pontiac when our children were babies. I dedicate this painting to the late Jack Mason of Austin who sold me numerous Used Cars on credit with only my promise to pay and always took them back in trade when they couldn't be repaired.
