This Romanesque Revival style Courthouse is on the square at Hallettsville, Texas and was designed by Eugene T. Heiner and was built in 1897. The Gazebo was built for the filming of "The Best little Whorehouse in Texas"

This will be published on my 2014 Texas Wildlife Calendar! and prints are available Coyotes are really smart and this one is part of a hunting strategy. The pack spreads out into a large circle and they all lay down and wait until a Rabbit or other game appears somewhere in the circle. One Coyote will jump up and chase the rabbit right into the mouth of one of the other Coyotes in the circle!

In my observations I've found that wild animals can often sense danger or know if a stranger means them no harm. Many times I've been able to photograph and observe wild animals at extremely close range while they were fully aware of my presence. This painting is from the Anchor X Ranch between Burnet and Lampasas, and thanks to Gardner and Mary Ann Parker I have had the privilege of roaming around and finding a wealth of things to paint!
Available for purchase:
This was at the Stamford Cowboy Reunion as I was watching the activities behind the arena in preparation for the rodeo.

According to reliable records the world's first Rodeo was in Pecos, Texas in 1883! Some disagree but since they are not Texans it's reasonable to question their credibility! This Roper was actually practicing at the Stamford Cowboy Reunion but I liked the action so much I placed him in the Arena!
Available for purchase:
is 100 miles from our Ranch on State Highway 6. More accurately it’s on the North Side of Calvert, Texas and once again I have eliminated an asphalt road, just for aesthetics! Calvert is a really neat old town from the days when Cotton was King.
Available for purchase:
Rainbows are always special events but the best ones are usually in early morning or late afternoon because of the low angle of the sun. I've never met anyone who didn't feel good when they saw a Rainbow and I think they must have been designed to cheer us up!
Available for purchase:
is at Jonesville, Texas on Farm Road 134, just west of Waskom near the Louisiana Border. The inside of this store is probably one of the most interesting you will find and was used as a setting in a Walt Disney movie.
Available for purchase:
This was inspired at South Padre Island. I'm always fascinated by the patterns in the sand etched by the almost constant wind. Sunrises on the beach are almost always inspiring!
Available for purchase:
is at the intersection of Farm Roads 8 and 219, ten miles west of Stephenville and although the roads are paved now, I used a little Artistic License and took it back in time several years, just because I like the looks of a dirt road!

This Cardinal flew into a windshield and was stunned when he was brought to my wife who used to care for all kinds of creatures. He was about as beautiful as a bird could be but when we tried to handle him to set him free, he bit and fought like a little Tiger. We sure were relieved to see him fly away.
Available for purchase:
This title was the result of a contest I had in my spring newsletter to name this print. The title appealed to me because the hills in the background are the Llano Uplift. Llano is about 40 miles from this spot on Highway 71 and usually when I'm traveling from West Texas this is my first glimpse of the hill country and the landscape west of the hill country almost always has a golden color due to the absence of rain!
Available for purchase:
The Lockhart Fire Station, located at 201 W. Market Street was built in 1914 and originally housed the Fire Department and City Hall. City hall was moved in 1988 and it is now exclusively the Fire Station.

This scene is essentially in my back yard or at least in the pasture behind our house is 105 years old. I did a slight re-arrangement of the buildings for the purpose of composition and added the windmill which I intend to add for real someday!
Available for purchase:
This title is the result of my annual contest to name one of my prints. This tree is on a ranch a short distance from our place and I've wanted to use it in a painting for a while so I decided it would be a good centerpiece for a painting that pretty well reflects the scenery here in Central Texas in the spring!
Available for purchase:
This is my second painting of the Alamo and there isn't a more iconic Texas symbol. The brave men that died at the Alamo established a Legacy that lives on today!
Available for purchase:
Long's Falls are on the Llano River just upstream from Kingsland, Texas. and are accessible from Long's Fishing Camp. This is just a portion of the Falls as it would be impossible to get them all into one picture. The Llano River is one of the most scenic rivers in Texas and I added the Cowboy and Horse for scale.
Available for purchase:
I've rarely seen a Cactus Blossom that didn't contain a few Beetles feasting on the Nectar. This Cardinal has figured this out and is about to dine on some tasty Green Beetles!

This is on lake L.B.J. near Kingsland and is just one of the many lakes in the chain of Highland lakes along the Colorado river. These fellows were out early and intent on catching fish.
