LA LOMITA MISSION

Painting completed in: 2005

This painting will be published on my 2006 Texas Spanish Missions Calendar. La Lomita which means Little Hill in Spanish is located near Mission, Texas, a town named after the mission, on the Banks of the Rio Grande. There were crude buildings built by traveling priests to stop and rest on their travels up the Rio Grande This Chapel was built in 1899 and is all that remains of a larger complex. La Lomita is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
