George Boutwell’s

LAZY AFTERNOON

Painting completed in: 1978

In my observations I've found that wild animals can often sense danger or know if a stranger means them no harm. Many times I've been able to photograph and observe wild animals at extremely close range while they were fully aware of my presence. This painting is from the Anchor X Ranch between Burnet and Lampasas, and thanks to Gardner and Mary Ann Parker I have had the privilege of roaming around and finding a wealth of things to paint!
