I've always been amazed by the Majesty and power of Thunderstorms! This painting was inspired one spring afternoon while watching an approaching wicked looking Thunderstorm from our backyard. I made up the landscape, Road and Farm to show the scale of the Storm.

This is another of those barns that all of the Artists paint and it's between Rio Vista and Morgan, Texas. The house is near Waxahachie and I saw the Father and Son unsaddling their horses at the Stamford Cowboy Reunion!

Published by Limited Editions of America of Whitehouse, Tennessee and they will produce State Symbol Prints for all 50 States. This is the Print for Texas and I was selected to produce the Painting because of my being designated as the Official Texas State Artist for 2006. The Print features Ten of the Official State Symbols of Texas and Three that I thought were equally as important to the History of Texas; (the Cowboy, the Windmill and the Oil Well). Limited Editions of America has produced 1845 (the year Texas Entered the Union) Signed and Numbered Prints and an Artist Proof for each County in Texas. All 1845 prints are sold out and all but 40 of the Artist Proofs have also sold!

This old Truck has been sitting in this spot at Mosheim, Texas for at least 25 years and apparently is sentimental to it’s owners or it would have sold a long time ago. The Tree in the bed is the second one to grow there as the first one was cut down and was much larger. I’ve wanted to do a Painting of it for a long time and finally “got er done”!

Available for purchase:

Trees are some of the most amazing things on earth. No two are alike yet each species is easily recognized. As in all facets of nature a tree is useful from the day it sprouts from a seed until it rots and falls providing nourishment to various creatures and enrichment to the soil.
