I was in the staging area for the Fourth of July Parade at the Stamford Cowboy Reunion when I happened on this Cowboy sitting on his Trailer in a locked stare with his Horse. He was decked out in Texas Flag attire and his horse was also dressed for the occasion but something was missing. His Trailer was Light Blue and his Truck was Gray and I put off the Painting until I saw a Truck and Trailer painted up like the Texas Flag pass me on the Highway and I knew instantly what the Painting needed!

This painting will be published on my 2006 Texas Spanish Missions Calendar. Named the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in 1914 it is located in Ruidosa, Texas in the Big Bend Area up the Rio Grande From Presidio. The Texas Historical Commission says that the structure is recognized as one of the most significant adobe buildings in the state, as its three arches are likely the largest existing round-structural adobe arches in Texas. Contributions to the restoration fund can be made payable to the Ruidosa Mission Project and mailed to Ruidosa Mission Project, P.O. Box 606, Marfa, Texas 79843. Contact Marge Hughes at 432/729-4452 for more information.

These are our ten Longhorn Steers and every time they see our pickup truck they come running at a full stampede in hopes of getting fed. Barbed wire may have begun the job of taming the west but I think range cubes have completed the task.

This battered Dempster Model 15 Windmill is just down the valley from us and a great place for a Redtailed Hawk to set up shop without getting mangled when the wind blows.
