Back in 1967 I found this place in Georgetown, Texas and it was the first old store to catch my eye. I painted this earlier in both Impressionistic Oil and Loose Watercolor and thought it would be fun to paint it again in my current style.

This painting will be published on my 2006 Texas Spanish Missions Calendar. Named the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in 1914 it is located in Ruidosa, Texas in the Big Bend Area up the Rio Grande From Presidio. The Texas Historical Commission says that the structure is recognized as one of the most significant adobe buildings in the state, as its three arches are likely the largest existing round-structural adobe arches in Texas. Contributions to the restoration fund can be made payable to the Ruidosa Mission Project and mailed to Ruidosa Mission Project, P.O. Box 606, Marfa, Texas 79843. Almost Sold Out, Only 4 Left! These are our ten Longhorn Steers and every time they see our pickup truck they come running at a full stampede in hopes of getting fed. Barbed wire may have begun the job of taming the west but I think range cubes have completed the task. Only 4 Left!

I was honored to have this painting published as the Poster for the 2006 Salado Art Fair. When I was Asked to do a Painting for the Poster I didn't think I had enough time to produce a New Painting so I got on my Computer and took pieces from several of my paintings and assembled them into a new work in a program called Photoshop. Although the components of this picture are all my work, there is no Original!
Available for purchase:
is on U.S. 62/180 at the foot of the Guadalupe Mountains about 100 miles east of El Paso and is in some of the most beautiful and rugged country in Texas. If you pass Salt Flat, you’d better go back because it’s a long way to the next watering hole.
Available for purchase:
This Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio Glaucus) is trying to get some salt and minerals from the nose of our Bull but the Bull will probably shake his head. Tiger Swallowtails only live a few weeks as adults and survive mainly on sugar, minerals and salt and are somehow able to sense good supplies like a Bull's big wet nose.
Available for purchase:
Bosque County had a great display of wildflowers this spring and Martha and I really enjoyed our morning walks thru the acres of Bluebonnets on our ranch. I pieced this painting together from our ranch and several places nearby!
