These Oak Trees are located at the Corner of Gonzales and Travis Streets in Seguin, Texas and as early as 1828, were used as a Campground Headquarters for the "Gonzales Rangers" who patrolled between Gonzales and San Antonio. The Gonzales Rangers later became known as the "Texas Rangers"!

These two Havard Agaves were blooming this spring right by the front door to our showroom here at the ranch and were very popular with Hummingbirds and Bees!. Havard Agaves are native to the Davis Mountains of West Texas so I placed them in a more natural setting. The Mountains in the background are the Franklin Mountains at El Paso.

There are countless explanations of the great star of Bethlehem and you can believe what you wish or trust that it was a miracle. No matter what you may believe, it's hard to see a real bright star and not ask yourself the question; "Reckon it's the same one?"

This title is from my annual contest to name one of my prints. There's a draw back behind our ranch house where you can't always find wild Turkeys but you can usually find their footprints. I moved the Windmill in from Skidmore, Texas and the water tank in from Goodnite, Texas because I thought they belonged in this picture!

The flowers are Indian Blanket and are one of the most widespread Wildflowers in the country and on certain years they blanket the terrain with a sea of red that can rival the Bluebonnets for putting on a show. The Windmill is between Lometa and Goldthwaite , Texas.

This Axtell Model C Windmill; made in Fort Worth by the way; was near Junction, Texas but I put it in a scene I found near Zephyr, Texas and then added the Bluebonnetts and the Farmhouse!

This title was the winning suggestion in my annual Name the Print Contest! This was inspired at our ranch in late February 2015 and is kind of a re-run of an earlier painting that was done before I painted the Texas Flag on the Barn.

This house is just outside of Bishop, Texas and always catches my eye as I travel Highway 77. Actually it doesn't have a red roof but maybe somebody will suggest it to the owner!

This Eagle was wounded by irresponsible gunfire and a friend of mine nursed him back to health and released him back into the wild. I took reference photographs of him on my friend's arm and used Palo Duro Canyon as a backdrop because that's the last place that I saw an Eagle in the wild and I figure that this Eagle has probably been there.

This old wagon was a Friday Mountain Camp near Austin many years ago when my children were little. The yellow and red flowers are Coreopsis and the Lavender flowers are Beebalm or Lemon Mint.

is located in Hunter, Texas in a building built in the mid 1800's. James Riley camped out at the Texas State Capitol and got the first Beer license issued after Prohibition ended in September of 1933 and Mr Riley ran the tavern for 58 years afterwards. Lots of well known Texas Talent has played at Riley's. Hunter, Texas is Between San Marcos and New Braunfels less than a mile west of IH 35 exit 196.

This Huge Live Oak Tree is the largest on our Ranch with a circumference of 13.5 feet. It is inside of a dense thicket where Turkeys, Deer and other wildlife find shelter. The Gobbler doing his display is about to start a Mating Combat Ritual and the Cardinal will have a Ringside Seat!

There is nothing I can imagine that could be more inspiring than a sweeping Texas vista with a great sunrise glowing behind it. This is one of the many great sunrises I've witnessed from our front porch, I found this Aermotor Model 702 Windmill near Dalhart, Texas.

Rumor has it there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! So, do we stay on the paved road and get to our destination or go chasing the rainbow, only to have it fade away and leave us stranded on a muddy road. The rainbow was reflecting in a flooded field south of Alice, Texas but I substituted this muddy road near Eagle Lake, Texas.

I was in the staging area for the Fourth of July Parade at the Stamford Cowboy Reunion when I happened on this Cowboy sitting on his Trailer in a locked stare with his Horse. He was decked out in Texas Flag attire and his horse was also dressed for the occasion but something was missing. His Trailer was Light Blue and his Truck was Gray and I put off the Painting until I saw a Truck and Trailer painted up like the Texas Flag pass me on the Highway and I knew instantly what the Painting needed!
