I painted this from memory from when I was in the Boy Scouts and spent many nights camping at Camp Tom Wooten over looking Lake Austin and Bull Creek, Back in the days before everything got developed up and there were still old farms in the area.

I've gone fishing at Rockport several times with Chuck Naiser and he always tells me how good the fishing has been, but it never seems to be that way when I go with him. The last time we went fishing things were different, Chuck stepped out of the boat and caught a nice Redfish on the first cast; this set the pace for the rest of the morning and gave Chuck's previous fish stories much credibility!

These two Theaters are on Congress Ave in Austin on the Historic Meridian Highway (Originally Texas Highway 2) first north- south highway from Canada to Mexico! When I was a teenager we would ride the City Bus to Downtown on Saturday afternoon and take in a Movie! $1 would get you into the Theater, buy you a coke and some popcorn and leave enough for the Bus Fare back home!

Available for purchase:

Zinc Etching from an original pen & ink drawing in 1971!

When our Children were small we enjoyed the wildflowers with them and now that we have Grandchildren we are looking forward to showing them the wildflowers here on the Ranch!

Available for purchase:

Wild turkeys are normally some of the most cautious creatures but throw their caution to the wind in early spring as they come right out into open fields in broad daylight and do their courtship dances!

Available for purchase:

This is one of our barns and that’s a 1929 Studebaker that we have owned for several years and are planning to restore in the near future. The Flowers are Mexican Hat, White Prickly Poppy, Lantana and Sunflowers.

Available for purchase:

I painted this in July because I wanted to get some relief from the Summer heat and because it's been such a long time since we've had any snow, even in the Winter!

Available for purchase:

There's nothing like a clear night in the country in Texas, with millions of stars shining and the Crickets chirping. Watching the stars always makes me aware of how tiny we are in relationship to the universe and yet how special we must be to have had it all given to us just to enjoy.

Available for purchase:

This Live Oak is in a Rest Area south of San Antonio and I've wanted to include it in a painting for a while. While looking at the branches, I noticed a dead branch that I thought would make a great roosting place for a Red Tailed Hawk. This Hawk is one of many that a friend of mine has nursed back to health!

Available for purchase:

This title is the result of my annual contest to name one of my prints. Due to the drought this year it was more like wishfull thinking. This Windmill is West of Coleman Texas, the House is East of Austin and I made up the rest of the picture!

Available for purchase:

Travel down any dirt road in Texas and you have a pretty good chance of coming upon some "good ol boys" catching up on the latest. The best place to park is where you're at and the rush hour traffic will just have to wait or join in the conversation!

Available for purchase:

This tree was in our front yard when we lived in Austin and the Doves are ones my wife raised from nestlings. I particularly enjoy misty mornings so I added the background for effect.

Available for purchase:

Sunbeams are one of my favorite sights and even though they are easily explained scientifically, I prefer to to think of them as having a more spiritual meaning! I found this Monitor Model WB Windmill; which was sold through the Sears and Roebuck Catalog; near Stamford, Texas.

Available for purchase:

These are our Longhorn Steers having a little breakfast and that's our house in the background. We have a "Round Bale" of hay out for them at all times and if they take a few weeks to eat it all, we know that they have plenty of grass. If they eat the bale in two or three days, we know our pasture is in trouble!

Available for purchase:

This is an imaginary town that was inspired going west on Highway 6 several times on my way to Art Shows in West Texas but it could be any town in any part of Texas west of the Pineywoods.

Available for purchase:

I have always been fascinated by Skimmers, at first glance these birds seem to have no eyes or feet. This is because their eyes are the same color as their black caps and their feet tuck up under their feathers like the landing gear on a Jet Liner.

Available for purchase:

This title is the result of my annual contest to name one of my Paintings. This is a frequent scene on our stock tanks here on the ranch! Canvasbacks and Widgeons are the most common Ducks that winter on our Tanks and there are many mornings when there is fog on the water and the Ducks explode off of the water when they hear us walking by.

Available for purchase:

This title is the result of my annual contest to name one of my prints. Millions of Snowgeese migrate south each year and winter along the gulf coast and thanks to Glen Sunderman of Eagle Lake, Texas, I got a chance to observe them in January when he gave me a tour of the area. Snowgeese are extremely wary and at any given moment the entire flock can burst into flight, honking loudly!
