This scene was inspired near Hillsboro, Texas where farming is a major industry. Assuming a Farmer is smart and experienced, he can probably deal with such things as insects, diseases, high costs and low profits, but if he is to have a crop at all, the weather conditions have to be right and all a farmer can do about the weather is pray!
