MONARCH BUTTERFLIES

Painting completed in: 2007

(Danaus Plexippus) Moinarch Butterflies migrate thru our Ranch twice a year and this Male is checking out the two Females on the Milkweed blooms where they will lay eggs. Milkweed is poisonous is the primary food for the Monarch Caterpillar. Body fluids of the Caterpillar and the adult Butterfly are poisonous and will make any bird or other creature that eats them very sick or even cause death!
