GAP GATE

Painting completed in: 1975

This was one of my first Pen and ink prints that I produced to have something to sell or give away that was inexpensive. The idea was inspired at the Heep Ranch that was South of Austin on Onion Creek.A Gap Gate is a break in the Fence that opens and closes with a loop of wire over a fence post and can sometimes be very difficult to open and close. When the elder Mrs Heep saw the drawing she said that her Husband always drove and she opened and closed the Gap Gates and that if she went to Hell, the Devil could surround her with Gap Gates and that would be enough Punishment!
