“MEMORIES” The
Heep Ranch, south of Austin, was homesteaded when Austin was
barely more than a River Crossing. In the last five years
I've done numerous paintings of the ranch for the Heep
family. When I discovered this ancient saddle in one of the
barns I wondered about the stories it might tell if it
could. When I asked Grandmother Heep about the saddle she
said it was at least 100 years old and told me of people and
things in the past that she had all but forgotten!
