 “PRESIDIO LA BAHIA" This painting will be published on my 2006 Texas Spanish Missions Calendar. Presidio La Bahia is at Goliad and the first thing they will tell you is that it is not a Mission. I thought it belonged in the Mission Calendar because it was vital to the mission and an integral part of mission life. Presidio Nuestra Senora de Loreto La Bahia del Espiritu Santo was Established in 1749. 342 Texans were executed here on Palm Sunday in 1836, providing the Texan Army with plenty of motivation for their Victory at San Jacinto!
