 On The Beach- Christmas 1998. I painted this in 1974, shortly after becoming a full time Artist and Martha liked it very much. I knew it would sell quickly and we desperately needed the money, but Martha was working for free and I decided to give it to her as a gift. This Paining is symbolic of our life patterns and that of lots of people and creatures alike in that the Lady sits on the beach and waits while the Man goes flying off to catch a fish to give to her as a gesture of his love! - GEORGE BOUTWELL |
