Miss Lillie's Lace

“MISS LILLIE'S LACE” This title occurred to me before I ever started painting the picture. The hungry Gulls trailing this Shrimpboat (named "Miss Lillie") seemed like an aerial wake that mirrored the one in the water. This is from the Laguna Madre in the Rio Grande Valley, but it could be any place on the Gulf Coast. GEORGE BOUTWELL
