“SPRING SPLENDOR” There’s no way I would do a Texas Wildflower Calendar and not include Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush. The Bluebonnet, Being the Official State Flower of Texas, grows only in Texas although relatives live elsewhere. The Indian Paintbrush is a semi-parasite and taps its roots into neighboring plants to steal a little food, and it likes Bluebonnets as much as most Texans do! - GEORGE BOUTWELL
