SALT FLAT, TEXAS, is on U.S. 62/180 at the foot of the Guadalupe Mountains about 100 miles east of El Paso and is in some of the most beautiful and rugged country in Texas. If you pass Salt Flat, you’d better go back because it’s a long way to the next watering hole.
